165 offenders fined during traffic action (Antwerp)
165 infringements were used during a major traffic action by the Antwerp police. Including eleven drivers who were thrown on the receipt through the red.
The large-scale check on Saturday was the work of the traffic support team (VOT) of the East region. Inspectors took to the track in Deurne-North and South, Berchem and Borgerhout. “A total of 165 violations were identified,” said police spokesman Wouter Bruyns.
For example, 22 trucks, then 3.5 tons, were fined because they were wrong. Three motorists who illegally enter a place for people with disabilities can expect a fine. “Eleven drivers and a pedestrian ignored the traffic light, and 21 drivers drove through the orange light despite the possibility to stop,” Bruyns fights. “Eleven drivers were also issued a ticket because they were busy with their mobiles.”
On Friday, the VOT of the Center region already removed three vehicles from traffic because the influence of drugs was driving around. This always came out to the police because they check dangerous driving behaviour. “Two drivers have their license revoked for fifteen days of drug use in combination with driving,” says Bruyns. Laughing gas was used in the third vehicle. Three bottles have been seized. sare
