Vue Cinema open at six locations in the Netherlands until 8 p.m.
Vue Cinema opens on Saturday at six locations in the Netherlands. The cinema chain is open until 8 p.m. in Kerkrade, Alkmaar, Hoogeveen, Eindhoven, Hoorn and Heerhugowaard. All performances were sold out, general director Ron Sterk reported to the ANP.
The halls were filled for 40 percent so that all visitors could keep one and a half meters away. In total, about 3000 people could go to the cinema at Vue on Saturday. The new Spiderman film in particular was very popular, according to Sterk. The last films start at 5 p.m., so that all visitors are out again by 8 p.m.
On Friday evening, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and corona minister Ernst Kuipers announced that cinemas were not allowed to open yet. The municipalities of the cities where the locations are open had indicated that they did not intend to take these measures. Strong date Vue Cinema only opened at those locations, as there is “no intention to provoke”.
Cinema chain Pathé announced on Friday that it would not open in Maastricht. There, the mayor offered catering and cultural institutions the opportunity to open, but to follow Pathé government measures.
