On Saturday night there was a fire in two nearby apartments in Gesundbrunnen and Wedding. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire and save all residents.

Shortly before one o’clock in the morning there was a fire on the second floor of a seven-storey residential building in Gesundbrunnen.

The resident of the approximately 70 square meter apartment was rescued and treated on site. It’s unclear if he needs to be transported to the hospital.

Ten residents had to be brought to safety with escape hoods by the fire brigade. They too were sighted and treated on site. A total of 40 people were cared for.

The fire brigade was on site with 60 emergency services.

A specialist commissioner is investigating the cause of the fire. Chausseestraße/Müllerstraße was completely closed for several hours due to the operation.

Apartment fire also in Wedding

Only about an hour later, there was a fire in an apartment on Schulstraße in Wedding.

The tenant of the apartment on the 3rd floor inhaled smoke gas and had to be treated on site immediately.

Firefighters prevent the flames from spreading to other homes. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

School Street was also closed for several hours.
