Toulouse: a resident discovers that she must pay 35,900 euros in housing tax
A resident of Toulouse had the unpleasant surprise to discover last week that she had to pay by the end of the year 35,900 euros in housing tax for her small house located in Lardenne.
It’s a surprise at the start of the year which she would have done well without. A Toulouse woman now retired received the last notice of levy issued from public finances at the start of the week. But when she discovers the sum that the taxes want to take from her bank account, it’s a cold shower. “I saw 3590 euros, at first I laughed and told myself that there was a problem and then I looked at the schedule and saw that I had to pay by the end of the month. year 35,900 euros. I do not live in a castle, it is only a small house where I live”, ironically this retired beautician who lives in the Lardenne district.
Believing to be exempt
The surprise is all the greater since this woman had made a simulation a few months ago on the tax site and had discovered that since her loss of income, she was no longer concerned by the housing tax. “I called the number directly but I got a voicemail, in the meantime, the transfer notice had been launched,” she says. Wanting to quickly regularize her situation, she immediately decides to send an e-mail to the department’s tax services. “I don’t have this amount so anyway this levy would not have passed or else I would have had to sell the house to pay this housing tax”, smiles ceée.
Fortunately for her, this Friday, the Regional Directorate of Public Finances contacted her. “After investigation with the competent services, an input error was made by this taxpayer”, assures public finances. This administration ensures that the situation is being resolved and that the file of this Toulousaine will be regularized.
