“That was politically very clumsy” – Liechtenstein
SCHAAN/BENDERN – Just days after the founding of the party opposing the measures, “People in Focus”, the bang followed: founding father Eckstein has resigned, the party is distancing itself from him and his statements. Is this already the end of MiM? We spoke to the political scientist and director of the Liechtenstein Institute Christian Frommelt.
The party “Mensch im Zentrum” (MiM) has committed itself to the “restoration” of human rights and the abolition of all corona measures. It was officially founded on January 1, 2022.
The opponents’ plan to position themselves as a moderate political force failed in an interview with Volksblatt.li. After hair-raising statements about the corona vaccination, MiM founding father Harald Eckstein took his hat off on the day the interview was published. The drawn board distances itself from Eckstein’s statements.
But how credible is this distancing? Are the problems really done with? And how can things continue after the unsuccessful start for MiM?
