Flights: – City break under the 100 mark
The tourism industry and the insurance industry are experiencing a landslide of cancellations of travel.
At the same time, the aviation industry is experiencing low demand and falling prices for airline tickets. It gives travelers a unique chance to get record-breaking travel abroad right now.
The money back?
However, it is important to be aware that travel regulations and the corona situation are changing rapidly, and this can affect both the opportunity and desire to travel.
Empty in seconds
– We have later registered a huge increase in the number of cancellations, says Bjarne Aani Rysstad, communications manager at Gjensidige, as a reminder that you can not regret and get money back if it is not travel advice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
And right now, the authorities do not advise Norwegians to travel to any country when it comes to the covid situation.
Record low prices
The average prices for flights from Norwegian airports to European destinations in week 6 (second week in February) are the lowest in ten years.
And some prices are the lowest recorded since the survey started in 2009. It shows figures from Norwegian Air Price Index, which is published by Travelmarket.no.
City trips
The Norwegian cities included in the study are Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger and Tromsø. And this applies to round-trip travel to the popular cities of Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Paris, Prague, Rome, Stockholm and Vienna.
Hers smokes the sick pay
Since Norwegians’ desire to travel is low right now, prices are following suit. This means that you can find flights with Ryanair from Oslo to Vienna round trip for 89 kroner.
Be aware of at Austria has some of Europe’s strictest corona rules, and require, among other things, that you have a corona certificate with you during the entire stay.
The price index also shows that you can travel Oslo to Rome round trip for 353 kroner. The price for travel from Oslo to Barcelona round trip landed at 442 kroner, while trips from Bergen to Paris went for a record low 464 kroner.
If you travel from Stavanger, it is possible to travel back and forth to Barcelona for 874 kroner, while the people from Trøndelag on a trip to Rome got away with 965 kroner in airline ticket prices. From Tromsø, this trip costs 1296 kroner.

Traveling on sale
Another reason for the low prices is that the airlines are in full swing with the January sales on flights. Both SAS, Flyr, Norwegian and Widerøe providers at low prices right now.
I add the competition from low cost carriers like Vueling, Easyjet, Ryanair and Wizzair to keep the price low.
Be aware, however, that travel with low-cost airlines often goes between airports that are not the city’s main airports, but are often some distance away from the destination. Thus, extra long transport to and from the airport is added.
