ZFE in Toulouse: opponents received in the Metropolis
The group of associations believes that the dialogue has been opened by Toulouse Métropole on the subject of the upcoming application of the Low Emission Zone.
Opponents of the next Low Emission Zone (ZFE) who plan to ban the emission of more polluting vehicles in Toulouse over the next few years, remain mobilized as their demonstration on November 6 had shown. In December, the collective of associations called Interclub ZFE 31 was received by François Chollet, vice-president of the Metropolis in charge of the environment, and its representatives are rather satisfied by estimating that “Toulouse Métropole (opened) the door dialogue and consultation ”.
The anti-ZFE reiterated their demands. The main one concerns a derogation for motorcycles and two and three wheels, as have done, according to the collective, metropolises by judging that these vehicles fluidify traffic. For vintage vehicles, the Metropolis recalled that it had granted the three-year provisional exemption and that it wrote to the Minister for a definitive exemption. Regarding the “leisure” use of vehicles (to circulate outside rush hour), which would be practiced in Reims, François Chollet would have proposed a study.
The anti-ZFE also want a derogation between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., as in Paris and, on this point, François Chollet disagreed because of the lesser impact on pollution. For the same reason, he opposed the exclusion of the western part of the ZFE bypass.
The launch of the ZFE, which was due to take place at the end of 2021, remains suspended on a government decision that has been awaited for several months.
