Portugal once again welcomes the humor of the 4 Amigos
Largest stand-up comedy group in Brazil begins an extensive national tour this Friday.
A long-term friendship between Dihh Lopes, Márcio Donato, Afonso Padilha and Thiago Ventura gave rise to the idea of creating a group that could have a viable show in the theater. In 2012, the quartet appears and the result was much more than expected, as they are now the largest stand-up comedy group in Brazil. The 4 Amigos take turns throughout the performance, always counting on a master of ceremonies to introduce them.
The comedians already sought after by Portugal and are now back with several sessions: Friday in Santa Maria da Feira, at Europarque; on January 15 at the Aula Magna of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu; 17th and 18th at Teatro Sá da Bandeira, in Porto; 19th at Altice Forum Braga; 20th at the José Lúcio da Silva Theater, in Leiria; 21st in São Mamede CAE, in Guimarães; the 22nd at the Conservatory of Music, in Coimbra; on the 24th at the Palácio de Congressos, in Albufeira. The tour ends in Lisbon, with three sessions, two on the 25th and one on the 26th, at the Aula Magna.
Afonso Padilha began his career as a comedian in 2010 and after joining the 4 Amigos continued to tour solo. It has a comedy special on Netflix.
It was also in 2010 that Thiago Ventura started in this art, having been present in festivals, comedy houses and theaters in Brazil. The comedian is one of the most relevant names in stand-up comedy today. In 2019 he was the winner of the Humor Award, in the category of Best Text, with “Só thankful”.
Márcio Donato embarked on the life of humor in the same year (2010), Donato was in some bars in São Paulo. Donato’s trademark is an explosive temper and a penchant for indignation, feelings that he translates on stage to make the audience laugh.
Dihh Lopes is an up-and-coming innovative comedian, creator of several projects, such as “Jokes for the family”, which focuses on diverse themes with some dark humor. His favorite creation is called “Podihhcast”, a daily live talk show on his YouTube channel.
In addition to the unique set on YouTube that has millions of fans on digital platforms, the 4 Amigos do YouTube channel has 3.74 million subscribers and 512 million views. On Facebook they are followed by 1.2 million people, the same number as those who follow them on Instagram.
