Naples, newborn in danger of life transferred by the Air Force to Genoa

The Falcon 900 departed from Ciampino and after having boarded a medical team of Gaslini arrived in Capodichino, took the little one who was being treated at the Santobono Pausilipon and returned to Liguria

An emergency medical transport from Naples to Genoa was concluded in the afternoon, carried out with a Falcon 900 aircraft of the Italian Air Force in favor of a 31-day-old baby in imminent danger of life. The rescue, requested by the Prefecture of Naples, was immediately ordered and coordinated by the Top Situation Room of the Air Team Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also that of government and manage urgent medical transport, through the aircraft that the armed force keeps ready, 24 hours a day, for this kind of need.
The sanitary equipment
The Falcon 900 of 31 Stormo, took off from Ciampino military airport today in the late morning, landed at Genoa airport where a medical team from the Gaslini pediatric hospital and the necessary health equipment for Ecmo (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) – procedure that the little patient needed for transport. From the Ligurian airport, the aircraft departed shortly after 2 pm for the Capodichino airport where it boarded the little patient from the Santobono Pausilipon hospital in Naples. The aircraft took off from the Campania airport and arrived at Genoa airport at around 6.40 pm where the newborn was transferred by ambulance to the Gaslini pediatric hospital. The military aircraft, returned to Ciampino airport, resumed operational readiness service.
