Coronavirus: No reduction in Athens
THE Athena boils once again from cases today, as the number of infections remains high.
In particular, at the moment when the infections started to subside in the territories, in the capital they do not show a significant change.
The Central sector continues to be “champion” and “on fire”, followed by the North and the West sector. Also, the last sector is the South, in which there is a reduction of about 100 infections, compared to what was identified on 13/1.
So today, Friday 14 January, EODY operates 19,772 new cases, 72 dead from coronavirus and 679 intubated in hospitals.
Of the 19,772 infections, in Athena are located 4,823 cases and are distributed as follows:
– Central Athens sector: 2,077 cases
– North Athens sector: 989 cases
– West Athens sector: 942 cases
– Southern Athens sector: 815 cases

The announcement of EODY for today in detail 14/1:
“The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 19,772, of which65 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,632,641 (daily change + 1.2%), of which 49.8% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 577 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,326 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 72, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 21,809 deaths have been recorded. 95.1% had underlying meaning and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated intubated is 679 (60.1% men). Their median age is 65 years. 79.5% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 565 (83.21%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 114 (16.79%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,884 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 560 (daily change -4.6%). The average seven-day admission is 570 patients. The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
