Brahms and Mozart gathered to taste “Viennoiseries”
The Keys of Saint Peter do not invite yourself to breakfast but to a concert on January 31st. The title of the event? “Pastries”. It will take place at 8 p.m., in the Saint-Pierre-des-Cuisines auditorium. Two great composers will then be in the spotlight.
“It is a question of tasting without moderation the Quintet with clarinet of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the String Quartet n ° 3 of Johannes brahms. Admittedly, the two works were composed in Vienna, but under very different conditions for the two musicians “, explains musicologist Joëlle Farenc in a press release.
Serenity and tranquility at the rendezvous
For his part, Mozart lived through a difficult period during the composition of his work, between his wife’s illness and her debts. “Yet he testifies toa kind of serenity, undoubtedly that of “the tenderness of fraternal friendship within a human group”, describes the specialist.
As for the Brahms quartet, it is “well received by the public, it combines the bucolic tranquility and a sort of rusticity with a typically Brahmsian melodic vein “, still according to Joëlle Farenc.
Listeners will find Floriane Tardy on the clarinet, Juliette Gil on the viola, Pierre Gil on the cello, Kristi gjezi and Eleanor Epp both on the violin. Enjoy your meal.
