A stone’s throw from the February 10 trade deadline, the market is slowly starting to heat up. This Thursday, it is on the east side that things are moving, with a deal in which the Knicks are successful. We take stock.

The Atlanta Hawks send winger Cam Reddish to the New York Knicks in a deal that includes a 2022 protected first-round pick, via Charlotte. The Knicks also acquire Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round draft via Brooklyn.
The Knicks include Kevin Knox in trading in Atlanta.

Reddish, 22, is getting his wish to join a team that gives him a bigger role and expansion this summer, and the Hawks have picked up a first-round draft that could come in handy in even more trades to improve the roster.
The Knicks thus recover 2 players, while Atlanta makes room in the roster and recovers a valuable asset for other movements on the market. In full rout, the Hawks lose face this season, and trades are becoming urgent to restore momentum around Trae Young. So clearly expect things to still move in Georgia.
As a reminder, Reddish, 10th pick of the 2019 Draft and former sidekick of Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett at Duke, turns this season at 11.9 points in 34 games. His potential is not in doubt, and the Knicks could do a good job by securing the services of the promising forward.
