Test infrastructure is being adapted – salzburg.ORF.at
Bless you
Due to the increasing number of CoV infections, the official test infrastructure is now being adapted. It’s about the wards to which only suspected cases are assigned by the health hotline.
Not only the district authorities and the contact tracers are groaning under the strain of the Omikron wave – the official test infrastructure, where only assigned suspicious cases are dealt with with an appointment, also has to be continuously adapted.
Last week, the health hotline 1450 in Salzburg sent around 20,000 people to have a PCR test; this week, 15,000 more are expected, says the spokesman for the State of Salzburg, Franz Wieser. At the moment, you have to react very flexibly.
Test capacity in Zell am See is doubled
Now that the Innergebirg incidence figures are very high, the test capacities are now being doubled from 500 to 1,000 PCR tests per day at the Corona Drive-In of the Red Cross in Zell am See. Red Cross spokeswoman Roberta Thanner, the construction of a second test road is currently being organized – two additional employees are being ordered to Zell am See through internal rescheduling.
Also in preparation are the state that will support an official test road in Flachgau and another in Tennengau. Since Tuesday there has also been a drive-in for suspected cases in Werfen (Pongau). According to the state, the official test capacities could – if necessary – be increased to around 60,000 PCR tests per week.
