Prague 15: How did the citizen satisfaction survey turn out?
The citizen satisfaction survey was conducted last summer and some of the conclusions appeared in the town hall magazine this year, where, however, only the average citizen satisfaction is mentioned, or it has improved or occurred in recent years. But it’s missing, that one in five respondents stated that the situation had persisted over the last few years. The entire survey appeared on the website only after it was requested by opposition representatives from the Fifteen Our Home movement, which brings together the People’s Party, Pirates or members of the Green Party.
In the survey, people commented on overall satisfaction with life in the city district. They should express their level of satisfaction by scoring from 0 to 10, the more points, the more they like life in Prague 15. According to the results, 23% of respondents are satisfied, 40% of respondents fall into the category of rather satisfied and 37% into rather dissatisfied.
Below average satisfaction
According to the results, then the average “satisfaction” rate is 68%. “Compared to the level of satisfaction found in other municipalities, cities or districts this is below average. The average satisfaction rate of municipalities, cities and districts in which the life satisfaction survey was the source is 76%, ”the researchers summarize.

Has the quality of life improved?
The survey also asked how much life has changed in the last few years. such that a small proportion of people think that the quality of life went rather down. 40% of all respondents think so. More than twice as many people have spoken out as those who have chosen that the situation has improved (19%). The fact that life in the city district has not changed fundamentally, I think 30% of respondents.
The research also asked what specifically has improved or rather. According to the answers, the environment and services have partly improved, parks are a bit cleaner and waste sorting works a bit better. People also praised the higher level of local businesses or public services. “Nevertheless, a large proportion of respondents perceived the still insufficient satisfaction in these areas, especially in the environment. They complain about the loss of greenery due to their cessation, “ stands in the survey.
The density of buildings is mainly a problem
It is new construction or transport that are the areas that have dominated the most among people who have stated that life in the city district is located. Over 70 percent of them chose transport as one of the main problems. They are bothered by the lack of parking spaces and the coming traffic density. According to research, the most pressing topic is new construction, people see as a big problem a large built-up area or thickening of development projects.
“Respondents feel that development construction takes away what they like at the age of fifteen – peace, lots of greenery and parks, accessibility of the center and the surroundings of Prague, “says the research. According to the researchers, the answers of the locals also showed that that the management of the city district goes too far in the hands of developers. These feelings in people are exacerbated by the lack of communication plans for the future development of the surroundings of their homes.
It will be built
One of the projects that bothers locals is the plan to build new apartments near the shopping center in Hostivař. In December, City Hall signed a memorandum with the developer Central Group, which is to build a new park in addition to three houses. The opposition protested against this, which bothered that the recreational zone with a football field and a riding school should disappear. Against this construction there was also a petition from local citizens. However, the opposition failed to push for the town hall to oppose the planned change in the zoning plan. The councilors defended the plans for the new construction by saying that, according to experts, the transformation of the quality area is being prepared.
As part of the population satisfaction survey, discussion groups also took place, from which the main priorities on which the town hall should focus emerged. For example, people would like to improve the cleaning in the parks, better control the suppression of night rest or build a new parking house.
Prague 15 could change significantly in the future.
