European map shows advance of COVID-19 infections. Portugal and Europe at the maximum level in red – Science
Data were updated today by the European Center for Disease Control (ECDC) this Thursday. In the last 14 days Portugal and the rest of Western Europe are painted in dark red, which means the record of more than 500 positive cases per 100 thousand inhabitants of COVID-19.
Portugal remains in the group of tests, marked with the highest percentage of dark countries, a value above 5.0 thousand inhabitants. But also with the highest rate of positive testicles, above 4%.

That Portugal recorded a new maximum this Wednesday, with almost 41,000 daily cases of COVID-19, having exceeded 1.7 million infected in total since the beginning of the pandemic. The DGS bulletin also mentions that there were 20 more deaths, as well as a new increase in hospitalized people, 1,635 people, of which 167 are in intensive care. In total, Portugal has more than half a million people in isolation due to COVID-19.
The North of Portugal leads the number of infections, with 15,943 new cases, followed by Lisbon and Vale do Tejo with 15,293 cases. The Centro region has 4,850 cases, the third point with the most cases.
