There is still discussion between Monaco and Newcastle for Badiashile
Currently injured for six weeks, Benoît Badiashile still interests Newcastle. The Magpies continue to discuss with Monaco for a transfer this winter.
The thigh injury, and the absence of six weeks, of Benoît Badiashile do not seem to have cooled Newcastle’s desire to recruit the defender in January. Discussions between AS Monaco and Newcastle are continuing without an official offer having yet arrived at the Monegasque leaders. From English sources, the Magpies are ready to make a significant financial effort to convince ASM to drop its international Espoirs. While Monaco has surveyed the central defenders market in recent hours, it could be that its leaders finally decide to trust the players in the workforce even in the event of the departure of Benoît Badiashile.

Wood, the next signing of the Magpies
Among the players who could see their playing time increase in the event of the departure of the international Under-21s, Chrislain Matsima is doing well. It was he who came into play in place of Badiashile on Sunday during the ASM draw in Nantes (0-0). Axel Disasi and Strahinja Pavlovic must also be concerned, alongside Guillermo Maripan regularly aligned.
After the signing of Kieran Trippier, Newcastle are trying to strengthen a team struggling for maintenance with a current 19th place two points behind Watford, the first non-relegation. Burnley’s New Zealand striker Chris Wood is expected to sign in the following hours for € 30 million.
