An early agreement seems to have been found for the garbage collectors of the city of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), Wednesday January 12. Following a change in working time, the workers went on strike for a month.
The inhabitants of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) have seen trash cans piling up in their streets for about a month. The garbage collectors’ strike is getting longer and longer for the residents, who are outraged by the situation. “It’s disgusting bored, it fucks the whole neighborhood in the air“, deplores a resident.”I’m afraid rats are coming“, confides another Toulousain.
On Wednesday January 12, in the afternoon, a new agreement would have been reached with Toulouse Métropole. Under the deal, an additional 14 days of leave could be granted to city garbage collectors. 11 days of compensation would be added to these days of rest, against nine days of suggested arduousness currently. Thursday, January 13 will be held the vote of the intersyndical, concerning the continuation or the end of the strike movement.
