Amsterdam in top 3 with rental price of an apartment in Europe
Amsterdam is in the top 3 of the most expensive cities in Europe when it comes to rents for one bedroom apartments. The rent for an apartment in the city is 1,641 euros per month. Only in London (1,850 euros per month) and Paris (1,964 euros per month) it is more expensive. In addition, the rents of both rooms, studios and apartments in European cities continue to rise.
HousingAnywhere, the parent company of Kamernet, has looked into this. Figures from the rent index for the fourth quarter show that the rent for an apartment is an increase compared to last year (+0.37 percent).
The price for a studio in the city has risen well over the past year. A year ago, tenants paid 971 euros for a studio. This year, an average of 1,181 euros per month, an increase of 22 percent. Amsterdam is in second place with Utrecht when it comes to rents in European cities. London is number 1 with an average price of 1,211 euros for a studio.
Amsterdam also scores high on a European level when it comes to room rental, but with current rents it is not in the top 3. Tenants pay an average of 651 euros per month for a room in the city, which puts Amsterdam in fifth place. In Utrecht more for a room (670 euros p/m). Later on, London (711 euros p/m), Munich (728 euros p/m) and again Paris is in the lead (787 euros p/m).
