The federal government has now approved several million euros in funding for various water projects in Salzburg. The Ministry of Agriculture will spend around 90 million euros across Austria, almost three million of which will go to Salzburg.
50 specific projects in Salzburg can count on money from the current Ministry of Agriculture, which involves techniques for wastewater disposal and drinking water supply, as well as flood protection. The vast majority of the funding is reserved for the drinking water supply and wastewater disposal.
One of the funded projects is the expansion of the wastewater disposal system in Piesendorf (Pinzgau). The community receives around 200,000 euros in federal funding for this. 40 of the total of 50 projects are drinking and sewage structures. The rest are flood protection measures for around 1.3 million euros.
Flood protection in Pinzgau is funded
Including two projects from Pinzgau, which was badly affected by the floods this year. The adaptation of the flood protection systems in the communities of Niedernsill and Hollersbach an der Salzach will protect another 50 properties from flooding. Both projects alone will receive federal funding totaling around 800,000 euros.
