B believe that Russia, before requesting Kazakhstan to intervene, put forward a number of demands to the Kazakh authorities. Thus, the Turkish edition Akit, citing anonymous sources, writes that Nur-Sultan, in exchange for help in stabilizing the situation, could promise to recognize Crimea as Russian.

“Russia has put forward conditions to help Kazakhstan. These conditions include the recognition of the annexation of Crimea, the restoration of the Russian language as a second official language, the granting of bases to Russia and autonomy for Russian minorities, ”the publication says.

On January 5, against the backdrop of pogroms in Kazakhstan, President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev appealed to the head of the CSTO state with a request for Kazakhstan’s help in overcoming this terrorist threat. Soon after, the organization announced its intention to send a peacekeeping contingent to help Nur-Sultan. The grouping of Russian peacekeeping units was made up of special forces of the airborne troops, in particular, units of the 76th Airborne Division and the 45th Special Forces Brigade of the Airborne Forces.

Previously, the organization of Turkic states, which includes Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, stated on the support of the government of Kazakhstan.
