Říčany u Prahy: The construction of the primary school is being postponed
According to information from last year, the cost of building a new school for 540 children should be over 600 million crowns. However, the mayor David Michalička (Quiet City) pointed out earlier that the market will show the price.
In this year’s investment budget of more than sixteen thousand cities is 381 million crowns. The largest item is investment in education, a large part also goes to investment in transport infrastructure. The city expects to drain Sokolovská and Zahradní streets for 11 million crowns or to reconstruct Otavská street, including the sidewalk and water supply line, for eight million crowns.
Roughly 58 million crowns are to go to the renewal of water management infrastructure, the budget also includes repairs to city apartments and the reconstruction of the roofs of the nursing home, which is in a state of disrepair. Adjustments to public spaces in housing estates should also continue.
Due to its location near Prague, Říčany is under great pressure from developers and those interested in housing. The city also repeatedly wins in the Municipalities survey in the data, according to which it lives best in the country. There are now four municipal primary schools in Říčany, for example the 1st primary school does not fit into one building and is located in several buildings. According to the town hall, the new facility must be built in order for the city to meet the legal obligations to place children in basic education.
This is what the new school in Říčany should look like according to the winning design. It could open as early as 2023.
