In Dijon, the staff of the screening laboratories is under pressure
One hundred and twenty to one hundred and fifty tests per morning, that’s the rhythm of Aniss Boisson at the moment. He is a physiotherapy student, and since September, he has been working in the Biogroup laboratories which carry out PCR and antigen tests. At the Clémenceau laboratory in Dijon, he noticed a increase in the number of patients per day: “When I arrived there were not many people, in October there were days when I only did two tests. Little by little, the number increased. From December, there were 200 or even 300 patients per day. “
After the end of year celebrations, this figure is only increasing according to Doctor Marianne Goyet, which manages the Cerballiance laboratory in Valmy, in Dijon. “On a one _explosion in demand_. We already had a lot of it during the holidays, and since January, it has increased even more. “ In total, out of the six laboratories of this group based in Côte-d’Or, 1,200 tests are performed per day.
Faced with this large crowd, the laboratory staff are holding up, even if the pace is accelerating: _ “_We arrive at complicated rhythms when we are alone, it feels a bit like a factory. It’s about two minutes per patient watch in hand, sometimes just one, you lose your relationship with the patients. “ explains Aniss.
Among the laboratory technicians who do the analyzes, the pace has also increased. At the Cerballiance laboratory, teams work at night to be able to deliver the results on time. Despite everything, morale remains high according to Marianne Goyet. She notices however fatigue among staff: “It’s a long-distance race with peaks, and it is true that here we are at the peak. We still have two years of effort in the legs, and there we start to show a certain fatigue.”
According to Public Health France, 10,158 tests are carried out per day in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
