Henk Lategan won the 5th stage of the Dakar in cars, Thursday January 6, thus signing his first victory in the competition. A nice number for the South African (Toyota Gazoo Racing), who led for a good part of the race, despite a mechanical problem that forced him to drive with an open door. A nice revenge for Lategan, disturbed by a problem with the right rear wheel on Wednesday.
