He is trying to vaccinate everyone in Prague. On the edge of the law
Foreigners get vaccinated in these centers through various centers to help foreigners and their contacts.
“Organizations are informed about this (available) vaccination, not in order to send foreigners there en masse, but also to send an interpreter with an interpreter when you have a client who is socially weak. It is not for ordinary and earning foreigners, “said project manager Jarmila Neumannová from the Metropolitan Medical Service, which is available for vaccinations. The organization falls under the Prague City Hall.
However, even that does not solve the problem. “We tried to ensure that people without a residence permit would get access to vaccination as part of the low-threshold vaccination project. However, it is very sensitive, because the state does not allow it and, moreover, it is a condition for the identification of the vaccinated, “a source well acquainted with migration issues told Práva.
The so-called low-threshold vaccination project started in Prague in July. At that time, the Ministry of Health granted her an exemption for the possibility of vaccinating uninsured people and foreign nationals.
However, this exception is insufficient in practice because it prohibits the vaccination of those candidates who cannot be identified so that they can be included in the central register.
“There are states in Europe that vaccinate anyone, no one is researching it. We think it is good practice and that it would be solved for these people as well. The state is restrictive to persons without a residence permit. But Prague is approaching this well, “says Magda Faltová, director of the Association for Integration and Migration.
The USA, where there are a large number of illegal immigrants, solves this differently, pragmatically and mainly humanly. He will not exclude anyone from vaccination.
They come through social workers
“People who come there are invited through field programs, so through social workers or curators of the capital. If he is a foreigner, there may be complications, but we have reports that 99.9 percent managed to identify and give them a vaccine, “said Jan Desenský, director of the Karel Larsson Center for Social Services in Prague.
“Many of them do not have a mobile phone or e-mail. This is a low-threshold, it is a modern approach that we move closer to vulnerable groups in order to bring health care close to them. It is an epidemic, especially in the situation, “another contact, who is involved in the project of the low-threshold center, explained to Práva.
He must know his identity
He also warned that the doctor who gives the vaccine must always know the identity of the vaccinee.
“Either he has a document or a copy of the document. Field workers know their clients. When they lose, they can identify them by first name, last name, and birth number. But that doesn’t stay often, “he said.
Many illegal foreigners prefer to avoid vaccination in the fear that if they get into the vaccination registers, the foreign police may come to them and deport them.
