Sten Grytebust has been with FCK since the summer of 2019, but is so far listed with only 24 matches for the Danish capital club. This season, the 32-year-old has been on loan to the bottom team Velje, with 13 matches between the posts. Here, Grytebust has done well, with what he describes as one of his best fights in his career.
It was in early December that the Norwegian goalkeeper put on the Superman cape and stood one fire fighting (as the Danes so beautifully say) against Kolding IF in the quarterfinals of the Sydbank Cup, a match Velje won 5-1.

-It was good saves and someone who finds a place in the book of my best. I guess there was no one I should save, but I did… In goal chances (to the opponent) this was not a 5-1 match, but we showed an efficiency that I hope we take with us, says Grytebust to the club Homepage.
Sten Grytebust had several big saves along the way, when VB won 5-1 and got a good starting point before the second quarter final in #SydbankPokalen against Kolding IF. The contract with FC Copenhagen expires at the end of 2022, according to Danish BT is unlikely to be prolonged. This does not mean that the 32-year-old will go clubless. The Danish newspaper claims that FC Nordsjælland is looking for a safe last defense, and has singled out Grytebust as a candidate.
After goalkeeper Peter Vindahl left the club this summer, neither Emmanuel Ogura nor Dudu have succeeded in replacing the former first goalkeeper. Grytebust should have the potential to do this, but according to BT North Zealand is struggling to match Grytebust’s monthly salary at FCK of around 400,000 Danish kroner.

Then we will see if the parties will be the only ones. One thing is for sure: Sten Grytebust is a raw goalkeeper!
