Notice: All of our coverage of the coronavirus you’ll find here.
With 101 positive corona tests on Wednesday, a three-digit number of cases is reported for the second time. It was only slightly more on December 6, 2021, when 109 cases were reported. At that time, however, this record was only achieved because a long delay in the evaluation of the corona tests was processed. Thus, these are the results of several days.
Sharp increase in the number of infections
Within the last seven days, an average of 55.4 new corona infections were reported per day. In the previous seven days, there was an average of 35.1 new infections a day.
Omicron variant infection process
70 of the 101 new infections reported for Wednesday are the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. The Omikron variant made up 58.3 percent of the reported new infections in the last seven days.
By Wednesday evening, a total of 283 infections with the new Omikron variant had been confirmed in Liechtenstein.
6452 laboratory-confirmed infections since the beginning of the pandemic
As the statistics from the Office of Statistics also show, the cumulative number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic is now 6452 laboratory-confirmed corona infections.
The Statistical Office did not provide information on the number of people who have already survived the infection, the deceased or the current hospitalized people on Epiphany – as is usual on public holidays and weekends.
The 7-day incidence per 100,000 population is 986 likes. That means, in the last 7 days, 986 people extrapolated to 100,000 inhabitants tested positive.
The projected 14-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants is 1617 cases.
