Three new protests against corona measures in Amsterdam not immediately banned
According to a spokesperson for mayor Femke Halsema – in the past Sunday on the Museumplein – there is no Sunday in the order produced.
“Demonstration remains a fundamental right. If we can, we will.” The demonstrations have been reported to the municipality. It is not known how many people attend.
Initially, organizer Nederland in Verzet had announced actions for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the capital. It is now known that demonstrations are planned all over the country until Sunday, from Staphorst to Blerick and from Emmen to Delft. There are also protests in Amsterdam on Saturday and Sunday. The action group also calls on shops that are still open on these days to be closed in solidarity with the businesses that are closed.
Museum Square
Last Sunday thousands of people came to the Museumplein for a non profit against the corona. At the busiest time, the municipality counted about 10,000 protesters. When they started to leave the Museumplein, the riot police intervened. A large group then moved to the Westerpark, where a manifestation of Forum for Democracy took place. Later, a few hundred demonstrators returned to the Museumplein.
The triangle of municipality, police and Public Prosecution Service was originally the demonstration to be subject to conditions. But when the organization, according to the municipality, every export and announced that it wanted to seek confrontation, it was decided to ban. Politics had a strong basis that individuals and groups were out for disturbances and were prepared to use violence.
Police officer severely mistreated by protester at Southeast detention center
