Sweden’s SVT & UR chooses a bunch of TVF’s historical programs – TBI Vision
Swedish SVT and Finnish YLE are among a number of Nordic clothes to download historical series and documentaries from the British fact distributor TVF International.
SVT has taken EBS documentaries Chinese Dragon Emperor and Asia’s ancient civilizations from Mediacorp Productions, while the Swedish training equipment UR has acquired Iceland: Cold War border and Britain on film with Tony Robinson, which was co-produced by TVF and Available Light Productions.
Other deals include Stockholm-based Axess Publishing which picks up Secrets In The Bones: The Hunt For The Black Death Killer produced by Infield Fly Productions for Canada’s CBC, and an investigative history series Fact or fiction: Once and for all, produced by Posvideo for NPO in the Netherlands.
YLE has meanwhile licensed The lost pyramids of the Aztecs from the UK’s Windfall Films, where SVT and Danmarks DR also acquire the program. It was originally aired on Viasat History, which has also added Normandy 44 ‘: D Day And the Battle for France to its schedule, with the show produced by Typhoon Pictures.
In Norway, VG TV licensed Wingspan Films’ Fake News: A True History and TV2 Norway picked up Testimony Films’ 9/11: Escape From The Impact Zone. All deals were handled by Sales Manager Poppy McAlister.
