CDS wants “immediate reopening of schools” and parents’ return to work
The CDS reaction to the Infarmed meeting was conveyed by the leader Filipa Correia Pinto who, like the representatives of the parties, stood out as a professional of the experts that the greater transferability of Ómicron did not translate into a worsening of the situation.
“We believe they are high as conditions for the immediate reopening of schools”, he said, accepting that it is also “essential for the economy that parents can return to work”.
As priorities, the CDS highlights a “speed” in the vaccination process and the importance of maintaining a “clear and pedagogical discourse, without alarmism”.
The party also talks about the issue of voting for fixed people. “The CDS requires a solution for thousands of Portuguese people who are confined to updates”, says Filipa Correia Pinto, suggesting as suggestions the reinforcement of voting by correspondence, at home or the creation of specific voting sections for these people.
“What cannot be an excuse is the lack of legal provision, because on the date of the dissolution of the Parliament, the PS knew how to anticipate and try to get its projects approved, as in the case of euthanasia,” he added.
Finally, a leader also asked that the electoral campaign period not be marked only by Covid-19. “This is the time for the parties to present their alternatives and the debate is only enlightening if it is not held hostage by the pandemic,” he said.
