Repubblica Futura: the health disaster
We often receive reports and calls from individual citizens who want to submit facts or express opinions. Never as in these, however, have we been overwhelmed with contacts, both of individuals and practically exhausted health professionals, who have asked us to say a few words on the disaster of the vaccination campaign and of this umpteenth wave of Covid. We decided to do it because we really believe that the time has come for someone to admit their responsibilities and above all to risk using a little common sense. First thing to say clearly: the vaccines are finished! For a few weeks no more bookings will be discharged because Pfizerseggia. Someone will say: incredible! Instead it seems so. Evidently the past year did not teach anything. Then, after the signing of an unpresentable agreement with Italy, after having waited in vain for the arrival of a few doses, the Government was forced to turn to Sputnik and to a supply agreement that the Government itself would have wanted until the end. to avoid. This year we go again. But perhaps the situation is even worse. In fact, some very sensitive categories were left without a vaccine (booster), coincidentally those who first took up the challenge of undergoing the Sputnik vaccine: law enforcement, school personnel, health and parasanitary personnel … And so, in the full of a new wave, various belonging to these categories – along with many citizens – will find themselves facing the recovery without a third dose. In this state of affairs it is natural to ask how access to booster doses has been regulated. Is there a vaccination plan? Are there any priority criteria? We mean: did the frail, the elderly or people with more morbidities take precedence? Frankly, it seems that we have relied on “who comes first, stays better”, according to one that no one can understand, logically the operators. Operators to whom we express all our solidarity and closeness, forced to work in total disorganization and in full chaos. And what does the government do? A fantastic decree in which he introduces a sort of San Marino super green pass that obviously has not yet been ratified by the Council, because a Gian Nicola Berti – finally paid by the State Congress – ready to prevent the discussion, is always found. And, ideona, the duration of this green pass is increased from 12 to 9 months just when vaccines are in short supply. Thus the unthinkable becomes reality, and those who first made Sputnik today find themselves without a green pass and without a vaccine, which, it is said, will arrive on 10 or 15 January. And God forbid it just didn’t arrive, but by now the damage is done, and several thousand of San Marino, in the most dramatic moment of this new wave, at the time of the holidays, have remained uncovered. Could one be more unfortunate in imagining the norms, rules and regulations for all citizens? Could one be more inadequate in defining a vaccination plan and in procuring vaccines? Not to mention the tampons, which, having now become a basic necessity, are also becoming a luxury item. Finally, last but not least, the quarantine pinwheel. People who have to run after any operator (how disarming and sad it is to hear citizens, often fragile and alone, to say they feel abandoned!) To ask for a swab and who, after several days, having been taken in charge, may find themselves to face quarantines of up to 10 days, after being not only healed but also dabbed with extreme delay. All this while in many countries, not only in Europe, the quarantine regime has been created and revised. One might also wonder if the level of infections in San Marino is in line with that of the neighboring areas or if there are paroxysmal manifestations, but let’s not dare so much! We console ourselves, however, together with all the San Marino citizens, in the certainty that Ciavatta, thanks to his majority who has squared around him, ready to support him and support him (no Roberto, don’t go, otherwise we’ll all go home ), remains firm on the dashboard to dispense decrees (which by now others write, because it’s okay for him to stay but then decide no, eh!) and to watch over the health – and not only – of everyone. Yes, we admit it, by all this, together with many San Marino citizens, we feel truly heartened.
