“The airport has reaffirmed its admirable efforts, providing a safe airport experience for all passengers, in line with the recommended health measures set out in the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery and ICAO guidelines,” writes Luis Felipe de Accreditation. Oliveira, CEO of ACI World.
Prague Airport defended the accreditation for another twelve months. The adopted measures have been in operation since the spring of 2020, and were introduced as one of the first in the Czech Republic.
“In order to obtain accreditation, it was necessary, for example, to provide information on all set measures and processes, including detailed records of all cleaning and disinfection, to compile an overview of changes in passenger handling, but also to share specific steps in protecting employees’ health. We have introduced our own sophisticated system for tracing and searching for contacts in the workplace. Therefore, I am extremely glad that the set protective measures work, health risks for travel and thus eliminate the safety of flying, “says Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.
Check-in on flights and arrivals takes place under strict hygienic conditions, all passengers and visitors are obliged to wear an FFP2 class respirator in all areas, observe it safely and pay thorough attention to hand hygiene and disinfection. For this purpose, more than 300 disinfection tanks are located throughout the airport. Since June last year, in cooperation with an external laboratory, there is an open commercial place where passengers can have COVID-19 tested before departure or after arrival. The airport is also undergoing increased disinfection and cleaning of all busy areas, including passenger gates.
“We use various measures about the measures in place, including through airport reporting, which we report regularly at regular intervals, but also through information signs throughout the airport as well as in queues,” adds Daniel Otta, Customer Manager experiences.
The ACI Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) is an official accreditation program that is open to all of the organization’s airports around the world. Within it, the ACI evaluates airports according to individual criteria and thus assesses their set protection measures and other tools they use in the fight against coronavirus. Obtaining accreditation then confirms that the airport is well prepared and that passengers can calmly and safely leave these airports. At the same time, thanks to this accreditation, the entire aviation industry is set to set hygiene standards, which aim to increase safety, but also not only the safety of passengers at the accredited airport and increase the demand for air travel.
Airports Council International (ACI) is a global trade association that brings together approximately 1960 airports in a total of 176 countries. Founded in 1991, its aim is to promote cooperation between members and other partners in the field of air transport.
