Petter Stordalen, Christian Ringnes | Completely stuck between friends when Norway shut down:
In a recent book, Petter Stordalen tells of an intense drama when Norway closed down almost a year ago.
Due to the closure, Stordalen had to negotiate with the farm owners, among other things. Among the biggest of them is Stordalen’s longtime friend, largest owner in Pandox and multi-billionaire Christian Ringnes.
Dagbladet Børsen has gained access to the book, «The Apollo Method» and writes that several times it was completely locked between the two friends. In the book it appears that Stordalen personally went on a home visit to neighbor and real estate baron Ringnes in an attempt to put in place a new lease for their hotels:
“In the first half of April, negotiations with farm owners had generally gone quite well. (…) The farm owners were beginning to understand the seriousness. But a few still refused to give way an inch. And one of them should prove particularly challenging to work with: My old friend Christian Ringnes ».

Pandox had threatened to file for bankruptcy, it turned out. This put further pressure on a demanding situation for Stordalen’s hotel empire. I order it further:
«He was chairman of the board and main shareholder in Pandox, a Swedish company that sat with the leases on many of our hotels. There had been fierce negotiations, but they did not budge. It was a disaster. And to be honest, it was perhaps Ringnes I least expected it from. “

Stordalen also writes about an unsuccessful and tense meeting at Ringnes’ home on Bygdøy, where he was totally rejected. Ringnes confirms what is described above in Dagbladet, but confirms that the friendship has survived the crisis. Stordalen has not had the opportunity to comment on the contents of the book.
