FINLAND LOCATION, MI – Margaret Lucille Larson, 93, a long-term resident of Finland Location, entered eternal life on Thursday afternoon, December 30, 2021 at UP Health System in Marquette.

Margaret was born on April 17, 1928 in Perkins to George and Alvina (Everard) Miljour and moved to Finland Location at the age of 8. She graduated from Negaunee High School, class 1945. In addition to being a dedicated housewife to her family, she also worked for a short time at Norlite Treatment Center.

Mrs. Larson was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at the Catholic Church in Palmer and also at St. Michael Parish in Marquette while living in Snowberry Heights in recent years. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing and knitting. He was an excellent baker and his pies were a treat. Margaret loved being together at a family camp on Pike Lake and a hunting camp on Missouri Road, where she held the title of “camp leader.” He was dedicated to his family and time with loved ones.

His four daughters are alive: Zita (Bruce) Anderson and Jane (Dan) Iery, both Finland Location, Mary Payment of Marquette and Joan (Mike) Terzaghi of Gwinn; two sons: Dean (Susan) and Lyle (Darlene) Larson, both Finland Location; 25 grandchildren; 51 grandchildren; 5 grandchildren; and numerous siblings and nephews.

His death was preceded by his parents; her husband John W. Larson in 1997; his son John L. Larson in 1966; two grandsons: Bruce Anderson, Jr. in 1989 and Todd Anderson in 2016; granddaughter, Kristen Juidici in 2008; five brothers: Vernon, George, Robert, Francis, and James Miljour; six sisters: Theresa Barabe, Bernice Korpi, Rosalie Hyttinen, Eleanor Goldsworthy, Ann Miljour and sister Helen Miljour; and son-in-law, Mike Payment.

The visit will take place from 17:00 to 19:30, Tuesday, January 4, at Koskey Funeral Home, and the service will be held at 19:30.

The Christian Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael’s Parish, Marquette, with Pastor Greg Heikkila and Pastor Larry Van Damme.

The family will also greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Immediately after the Mass, lunch will be held at the parish center. The burial takes place in the cemetery of Negaune.
