Ageas Portugal Group launches first sustainability report – Executive Digest
The Ageas Portugal Group has just launched its first sustainability report, reinforcing the importance of each employee, a business partner, without forgetting the dynamics of the initiatives and the interaction between all stakeholders, such as the group’s ambitions for the future and the identification of aspects to improve .
“This first Sustainability Report is another step forward on the path we are taking. For the correction and continuous improvement, as a form of accountability and in accordance with the trust placed in us by our Stakeholders. It is also one of the ways to germinate a sustainable, responsible and inclusive mindset in all decisions, whether large or small. Something that we are going to consolidate with the arrival of the new strategic cycle, which we are already preparing”, says Steven Braekeveldt, CEO of the Ageas Portugal Group.
At the same time, a central point in the Ageas Portugal Group’s new strategic cycle is sustainability. Three long-term ambitions are part of this strategy: contributing to a healthier society, promoting climate resilience and inclusion.
At an environmental level, the group decreased by 44% in terms of greenhouse gas imports, naturally due to the results of teleworking in a pandemic context, but also to the reduction of physical spaces in view of the preparation for the move of all employees to the two new buildings in 2022.
In 2021, Ageas Portugal reached a direct economic value generated of 937 million euros and a direct economic value distributed of 886 million euros.
