After the holidays, where to put your Christmas tree in Toulouse?
No question of leaving your tree on a sidewalk! In Toulouse, you have different options for recycling your Christmas tree.
Every year, the endless question comes up after the holidays: where to put your Christmas tree? Above all, don’t leave it on the sidewalk.
In Toulouse and the surrounding area, you have three options. You can bring it to a recycling center, have it picked up, by appointment by calling Allo Toulouse free of charge on 05 61 222 222 or drop it off at Christmas tree collection points available to you until January 31, 2022. The poles (local services) of Toulouse Métropole and Toulouse city hall are responsible for collecting the trees left in the various points provided for this purpose.
“They are then taken care of by the green spaces service to be stored in skips, then generated up to the compost bin (Daturas composting platform) accumulated by Decoset since January 1, 2021. There, they are processed in compost that can be used for crops and plantations ”, specifies the town hall.
Their collection therefore has nothing to do with that of household waste or recyclables.
23,330 trees collected last year
Last year, 23,330 fir trees were collected by the various Toulouse centers, or around 100 tonnes.
As for the large Ramblas Christmas tree, made up of 385 natural conifers, it will experience the same “fate” as those of individuals. Like private trees, the Ramblas conifers are removed from the structure and then stored in bins and also collected.
The metal structure will be dismantled by the Morvandelle company Abies décor in about two weeks.
