Prime Minister Fiala has appointed Nekulu to the post of Minister of Agriculture

Prague – Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) has appointed Zdeněk Nekula (KDU-ČSL) to the office of Minister of Agriculture. Together with former Minister Miroslav Toman (CSSD), they went to a short meeting, which will be followed by a press conference. At noon, Nekulu was appointed President Milos Zeman.
The government of Spolu (ODS, KDU-ČSL, TOP 09) and Pirates with Mayors and Independents (STAN) is complete. Until now, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Marian Jurečka (KDU-ČSL), who is also taking part in the current meeting, has temporarily led for Nekula. Nekula could not be appointed with all cabinet members in December due to a positive coronavirus test.
According to an earlier statement, the non-spherical priority for ČTK will be the use of modern technologies in agriculture, ie so-called precision agriculture. Like its predecessors, it wants to reduce the carbon footprint of food in the future.
Nekula graduated from the University of Agriculture in Brno, then worked on the supervisory board of the Export Guarantee and Insurance Company, from 2016 to 2018 he was chairman of the board of the state Support and Guarantee Agricultural and Forestry Fund. From 2015 to 2017, he was also a member of the Board of Directors of Výstaviště České Budějovice. Nekula is the mayor of Těšetice in the Znojmo region. He previously stated that he resigned from the position, he wanted to be an unreleased deputy mayor.
