Prague as a smart city lags behind, efforts of brakes inaccessible housing and corruption
One of the largest and longest-running projects in the Smart City area is the data platform Golemio, which collects, analyzes and provides data on what is happening in Prague. And it’s about data from transport, energy consumption in city buildings, or you information about the fullness of garbage cans.
The smart waste collection project will spread more than six thousand times a week in the first year. During the pilot project, we installed 424 sensors in front of underground waste bins, and we are also required to fully install above-ground containers, according to Matej Andor, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Operator ICT (OICT).
The changed sensors can detect when the time is full, and the ashes can thus optimize the collection route, the frequency of collection, or add additional conditions to selected locations. Disputed disputes have an initial balance of 7.2 million crowns.
According to our data, the biggest potential dispute is the collection of glass containers, beverage cartons and metal packaging, adds Andor.
Not the old projects that the office of Smart Prague is testing will keep the metropolis bag and run dl. An example is the smart benches, on which the people could connect you to the public Internet, which the benches sent. Electronic devices could be charged in the USB ports, at the same time Praan could get up-to-date information about the air and, in case of emergency, connect to the Integrated Security System.
Of the ten benches that cost two million crowns, six now work. After the end of the pilot project, we gradually pedaled the benches for a symbolic price to the people from the city centers, sums up their poor Andor.
Since this year, the City Hall of Prague 6 has taken the green bench, put two benches in Prague 11 and took one clever bench in the first place in the Congress Center. On the purchase of the remaining benches now OICT jedn.
New full route
Among other innovations in the foreseeable future is the extension of the PID Ltaka application with intermodal route filling, which will be able to choose the fastest mode of transport, a combination of different means of transport.
I will present on the example with my personal car from the middle, the full route will be guided to the nearest P + R park, follow the metro and the last kilometer will be taken on a shared bike, informs OICT CEO Michal Fier.
In addition to public transport, all means of transport, such as scooters, cars or scooters, will be included in the application.
The problem is inhabited
Praanm vak this clever one obviously not. For the second year in a row, Prague has fallen sharply in the global number of so-called smart cities, compiled by the Czech IMD Institute and the University of Technology and Design in Singapore (SUTD).
Interesting Smart City projects

The capital is now in 78th place, last year Prague was 44th, the year before it even occupied the 19th position. The Czech capital was overtaken this year by, for example, Varava, Moscow and Beijing.
In Prague, people said that the highest priority for them was affordable housing, traffic situation and corruption. According to its inhabitants, the Czech metropolis is the most popular in these areas.
For example, it received a very below-average mark of whether the city can easily find people living with less than 30 percent of their income.
It also did poorly in terms of traffic congestion and whether digitization had a positive effect on the quality of local government services. In the first years, the inhabitants of Prague evaluated positively the very emergence of various applications for smartphones, which were supposed to help, for example, with parking and in contact with the series.
It is no longer possible that Krytof Kruli, from the non-profit organization Consumer Frum, which cooperates with IMD, said about the application of Prague. According to him, this can be observed in most of the monitored categories related to digitization and the use of advanced technologies in the first place.
Thanks to the functionalities of the smart city, the people want to get where they need to go faster, more easily issue their administrative problems and truly respect security, Kruli added.
