Pnrr funds, 20 million euro financed for the continuation of the South Sea Park. The urban transformation of sections 6, 7 and 9 is progressing

Sugar Mizzy January 3, 2022

The resources of the NRP to complete the urban transformation of the South Sea Park and deliver Rimini to the future in the short term. The project for the construction of three missing sections of the South Sea Park (6, 7 and 9) is among the works admitted for a ministerial contribution for 20 million euros as part of the “2022-2026 urban regeneration call”, merged into the of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
With a decree on 30 December last, the Ministry of the Interior announced the municipalities benefiting from the contribution provided for by the state tender aimed at financing projects for urban redevelopment, the reduction of published marginalization phenomena, the refurbishment of public areas, for the improvement of the quality of urban decor and of the social and environmental fabric, also through the promotion of sustainable mobility. The request made for the implementation of sections 6, 7 and 9 of the Parco del Mare by the Municipality of Rimini was deemed admissible and was admitted to a contribution of 20 million euros, the total sum requested, as it complies with the purposes and milestones (qualitative parameters) of the NRP. The resources have already been defined for each year: 1.5 million for 2022, 5.6 million for 2023, 5.4 million for 2024, 3.9 million for 2025 and finally 3.4 million for 2026. I Implementing municipalities are required to sign the acceptance of the loan, undertaking to maintain the obligation to announce the works by 30 June 2023 and to complete the works by 31 March 2026.
Objectives within reach and in which the Municipality of Rimini is playing ahead of its time: to date, in fact, the definitive and executive design of the public works of sections 6-7 and 9 has already begun. already financed (together with the design of the other missing sections 4 and 5) with state resources for one million euros intercepted by the Administration as part of the “Italia City Branding 2020” program.

The work: over 70 thousand square meters of promenades have been redeveloped, with two new lookout points
In continuity with what has already been built on the Tintori and Spadazzi seafront and with what is in progress in sections 2 and 3, the projects of sections 6 (Murri seafront, from piazzale Gondar to viale Siracusa), 7 (Marebello-Rivazzurra seafront, from viale Siracusa in via Latina) and 9 (seafront Spadazzi – Bolognese, Miramare), will allow to complete the large urban park of the Rimini marina, returning these places to high quality public use in terms of urban comfort, freeing the waterfront from the presence of the driveway. The goal is to propose a concept of well-being linked to greenery, dunes, the sea, promoting outdoor life, well-being and sport, through different functions and activities that aspire to be the use of the park during all the year.
Work will therefore be carried out on a space that covers approximately 70,560 square meters. In the sea-side strip you can walk on a wooden cladding close to the beach, redeveloped with dunes and vegetation and new accesses to the sea, while the cycle path and service roads will be separated with dedicated paths. The central band will be dedicated to functions: from wellness, to sports with fitness islands and playgrounds, to relaxation with seats and green areas, to games for children inspired by the imagination and imagination of Gianni Rodari, with imaginary stations and rides, to offer creative and innovative play areas for families, integrated with the landscape of the waterfront.
Two new viewpoints will be designed harmoniously with the surrounding context in piazzale Toscanini in Bellariva and one at the height of the Rivazzurra gardens, on the model of what was built in piazzale Kennedy, a work that symbolizes an intervention where urban redevelopment is combined with environmental rehabilitation. The same will happen for the Rivazzurra belvedere, where the new rolling basin of the Rodella pit will be built, one of the interventions envisaged in the Bathing Protection Plan.

The other projects financed by the NRP
The financing of the public works of sections 6, 7 and 9 of the Parco del Mare is added to the other works on which the municipal administration has already intercepted resources of the NRP, starting with the construction of the second section of the Metromare, with the connection between the Rimini station and the exhibition center, financed for 49 million euros.
In addition, the project of the 0-6 pole in Viserba (which in fact provides for the union of the Peter Pan nursery with the Galeone kindergarten) was also considered eligible for funding for 3 million, while other redevelopment projects for schools (nurseries, childhood, first cycle, school gyms) will be candidates for the calls expiring in February.
“Extraordinary news – is the comment of Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad – Confirms that in Rimini the PNRR is already a reality. We focus on a priority objective of this administration, intercepting 20 million euros that will allow us to advance with the project of the Sea Park, it giving the impetus to a transformation of the southern area of the city, engine of better urban quality, work, employment and safety”.
