Frankfurt: perpetrator flees from officials
On January 1st, the police arrested a young burglar in Bergen-Enkheim. He is suspected of having broken into a beverage store on Borsigallee. The police helicopter was also used.
At around 1:00 p.m., a witness who also runs a shop on the same site was picked up by a young man because he was sitting in a truck from the beverage trade and had started its engine. Because of his neighborly relationship with the other business, the witness knew immediately that the young man must be an unauthorized person.
Without further ado, the witness locked the gate to the site, preventing the intruder from driving away with the truck. At the same time he notified the police. When this arrived with numerous officials on site, the suspect fled and disappeared into the extensive and confusing industrial area. However, the police quickly managed to surround the entire area and then search it systematically. For support from the air, the emergency services called in the police helicopter. In the end, the officers found the suspect in a shed on the neighboring property.
He is a 16-year-old from Cologne who left his group at the end of November. During the search for clues that took place at the scene of the crime, it was discovered that the beverage trade had been broken into. In addition to some cash and some fuel cards, the key to the truck that the 16-year-old had and was only noticed in the first place was stolen. The police then find the rest of the stolen goods in the suspect’s pockets when they search the suspect.
Since the 16-year-old, who also blew 1.6 per thousand, complained of health problems after his arrest, he was examined in a hospital. The officers then deliver him to the cells of the Frankfurt Police Headquarters.
