Liechtenstein shortens contact quarantine to seven days – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – Due to the increasing number of Omikron cases, the FOPH recommended adapting the quarantine strategies. Liechtenstein has now also adjusted its regulations retrospectively to January 1st.
The government carried out another assessment of the situation. You are currently not taking any further measures in connection with the coronavirus, but WILL take them if the situation requires it. Due to the Omikron variant, the number of cases is expected to rise sharply in Liechtenstein as well. Therefore, numerous large numbers of people will have to go into isolation and their close contacts in quarantine. This puts the functionality of society and especially the world of work under great pressure. The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health recommends that the cantons adapt their quarantine strategy. In Liechtenstein this will be adjusted retrospectively to January 1, 2022.
Relief for vaccinated and recovered people
People whose last basic or booster vaccination was less than four months ago or who have recovered for less than four months are now completely exempt from quarantine. Since a shorter incubation period is assumed for the Omikron variant, the quarantine period for all other people is shortened to seven days. So far it has been possible that the quarantine will be terminated prematurely if a negative test result is available on the seventh day. At the end of the quarantine, as before, a negative result of a PCR test is required for lifting the quarantine. This test must be done on the sixth day of quarantine so that this is on the seventh day. The country bears the costs.
Transitional provisions for people who are currently in quarantine
People who are currently in contact quarantines and whose last basic or booster vaccination was less than four months ago or who have recovered for less than four months can end the quarantine with a negative PCR test result. This test must take place in consultation with Contact Tracing. People who are in contact quarantine today and who do not meet the above conditions for dying will not change anything at the moment. Your quarantine will last the full 10 days as directed.
No change for different people
The regulations for the isolation of transient persons remain unchanged. The isolation continues for ten days and is only ended IF THE COMPARED person has been symptom-free for at least 48 hours.
