Toulouse 2022 sites: Téléo put into service at the end of April after the dry run
With some delay due to the health crisis and the overflight of the Bellevue high school, the longest urban cable car in France must be put into service in the spring. After a month of clearing.
It will undoubtedly be one of the most beautiful (aerial) views of the Pink City. From the cabins designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari designer, we can admire Toulouse, next spring, if all goes well. The panoramic windows will indeed allow to embrace an unprecedented view of the Palladian city, from the heights of Pech David, with the Garonne and the Oncopole in the foreground, then the pinches of tiles dear to Nougaro and the white buildings of Mirail and perhaps, in the distance, the planes of Blagnac which fly higher and, in good weather, a Pyrenean horizon.
Ten minutes for 3 km
But above all, the entry into service of Téléo, announced at the end of April 2022, will connect the three stations Oconpole, Hôpital Rangueil and Université Paul-Sabatier in ten minutes whereas it takes three quarters of an hour, or even more currently by car or by classic public transport. 3 km long, “the longest urban cable car in France”, as Jean-Luc Moudenc repeatedly reminds us, will have suffered a long childbirth, disturbed by the opposition of the staff and parents of students of the Bellevue high school and by the effects of the health crisis. The former have obtained permission not to be overflown by the cabins, and the crisis has impacted access to certain materials and components. Designed, manufactured and maintained by Poma, the French and world leader in teleport vehicles, the beautiful mechanics still have to lurk throughout the beginning of next year. With the last finishing touches on the site and delivery scheduled for the end of March, Téléo will still have to pass the dry run tests. For a month, the cabins run exactly according to the same procedures as in Tisséo’s daily service, but entirely empty. No passenger is in fact authorized to be transported before this dry run is over and the Prefect gives the authorization to operate.
40 projects for the 3rd metro line in 2023
2022 will be the year of the launch of calls for tenders for the choice of companies working on the site of the 3rd metro line. The year will be marked by the continuation of preparatory work. A project valued at 2.7 billion euros. 2023 should be the year for the launch of major works with some 40 simultaneous projects. The dependent line Colomiers, Matabiau and Labège will be commissioned in 2028.
