Philippe Clement will land at AS Monaco with his three assistants
The Belgian technician is likely to join the Principality’s club during this winter break.
Philippe Clement has requested and received permission from Club Brugge to negotiate with AS Monaco, with whom he will start working soon, as an agreement between the two parties is about to be finalized. Clement will land on the Rock with his three assistants, namely Johan Van Rumst, Jonas Ivens and goalkeeper coach Frederic De Boever, as our colleagues from Het Laatste Nieuws point out.
After two and a half seasons at the Club, Clement must help the Asémistes to finish on the podium, synonymous with ticket to the Champions League. Monaco are currently three points less than the current third, Olympique de Marseille.
While waiting to find a successor, there is a good chance that Club NXT coach Rik De Mil and current assistant Carl Hoefkens will take over the interim. Not only do they know the Club as well as the philosophy of play, but De Mil also took over successfully last season when the Gazelles were hit hard by Covid-19 and Clement was quarantined.
