PISA

2021 financial statements of Pisamo Pisa

Sugar Mizzy January 1, 2022

A 2021 marked by the emergency of the pandemic and by more than 7.5 million less receipts linked to it. Numbers and negative contingencies that have not stopped the ordinary and extraordinary activity of Pisamo, committed to guaranteeing public services and interventions at the service of the city of Pisa, as announced by the lawyer Andrea Bottone, sole administrator of the municipal participation. “It has been a complicated year but one that, not for this, has seen us stand still. Indeed, due to the numerous interventions and projects we have carried out, we have managed not only to maintain the high standards of a city that is always European in scope and in many cases to improve them, but we have also managed to guarantee work to all our employees without resorting to, as several other companies in the area have done, to layoffs “.

The safety of pedestrians and cyclists also proved to be a priority for Pisamo during the year. In 2021 alone, various interventions for the arrangement or construction from scratch of numerous sidewalks began (and largely completed). Among the major interventions the sidewalks of via Filzi a Porta a Lucca (in particular between via di Gello and via Giovanni Pisano), and those of via Randaccio in the same area of Porta a Lucca. New sidewalks also in Riglione (via Calatafini and via Fiorentina), in via Padre Pio da Pietralcina and in via Andrea Pisano. Of great visual impact, as well as practical, the feet of Piazza Giusti, where the company has also carried out pedestrian crossings, as well as in Piazza Baleari and via Moriconi in Marina di Pisa, with the asphalting and the restoration of road markings, in via dei Due Arni, in viale del Tirreno in Calambrone and in piazza Belvedere, in via degli Alberi, via dei Salici, via della Selva and via dei Gelsi in Tirrenia. In terms of smooth roads and more, the Trammino cycle path and the Cep roundabout should also be emphasized. In addition, the asphalting works of the roads already undergoing reconstruction of the pavements currently underway, both in southern Pisa and on the coast, are about to start, to see the completion in the first months of 2022. In addition, interventions also planned in the northern area of the city with via di Cisanello, via Luzzatto, via Cuppari, via Malagoli, via Redi, via San Biagio, via Ridolfi and in the district of Putignano with via dell’Arginone, just to mention the major interventions. Finally, the works will proceed with the arrangement of the roadway in via Bixio and via Crispi. Furthermore, during this year, the mowing of greenery along the main roads of the city and along the coast has never stopped. On the subject of maintenance in addition, in October the new service linked to the cleaning of the drains was started with the Santacrocesi purges, through which approximately 2,800 collection points are cleaned each month with the self-purging vehicle.

Still on the subject of attention to pedestrians and cyclists, numerous (the latest example is in via Santa Cecilia) the interventions carried out for regulate car parking and to create protected corridors for bicycles and pedestrians. Pisamo’s attention was paid to the most fragile categories. In fact, the company has started a careful remodeling of the spaces intended for people with handicap, according to the real and current needs of citizens. After a series of meetings with citizens and associations sensitive to the issue, who have submitted their daily problems, Pisamo then started the first interventions, with the aim of reviewing the location and number of these stalls. Besides me pass for young mothers or pregnant women this year has seen over 1,400 passes between Zsc and Ztl. For mothers who have a child up to one year or who are pregnant and who are also residents of the city, Pisa guarantees parking in the Zsc and access to the Ztl. “The numbers show us – underlines Bottone – that the service has been appreciated and used by the city and testifies to Pisamo’s attention to the categories of users that are more fragile and in need of attention”.

Great news that 2021 also brings in soft mobility theme. In addition to running many rental bicycles, during this year Pisamo started experimenting with pedal bicycles, which were located along the Trammino cycle path. For now there are 20 vehicles of this type but for the coming year Pisamo’s intention is to enhance the e-bike sharing service with at least 100 other latest generation vehicles, to be placed alongside the normal rental bicycles in the 38 stalls already present. The project on which the company is working is the one in free floating temperate mode, which combines the free use of vehicles with the exploitation of the physical stalls already present to find bicycles. A choice that also wants to preserve the decor, especially in the historic center, of our city. Pisamo’s goal is to go further and further towards green mobility, increasing the offer available to citizens and at the same time approaching those age groups that may have some difficulties with the classic bicycle. “The first experimentation went well beyond expectations – Bottone – and we can therefore enhance the service. Students, public and private employees, commuters and tourists: the audience for which these pedal assisted bicycles are intended is large and our hope is that the service will be appreciated. Our goal is to bring Pisa to the level of modern cities, with the intention of taking cars off the streets “.

Even the recent changes to the highway code did not take Pisamo by surprise, which in fact was already ready. Among the innovations, it establishes the speed limit for scooters at 20 kilometers per hour (6 for pedestrian areas). “Since we started the sharing service – explains Bottone – we have immediately adjusted in service so that the 300 scooters of the two operators, Bit Mobility and Helbiz, via GPS, do not exceed 20 kilometers. And we also have an area where the limits are 6 kilometers per hour. We have been far-sighted and today we don’t need to change anything. I also remember that in some prestigious areas, such as the area around Piazza dei Miracoli, the scooters even turn off and must be pushed or parked outside the area, also providing, to protect the decor of the historic part of the city. , special parking stalls inside the walls. In fact – he adds – the Pisa model has been implemented on a national level ”. The other substantial changes to the highway code concern the parking lots, such as the obligation of pink stalls, that is, parking spaces intended for pregnant women or with children up to two years of age. “Also in this case – says Bottone – together with the late councilor Gianna Gambaccini we have found, and won, a long battle. The pink stalls in Pisa have already been a reality for a year and also in this case we are ready to welcome without the change in the code right away. Our offices have been issuing passes for the pink stalls since 1st January ”.

On the subject of safety Pisamo has also implemented the automated control of cars with white or black list plates, through a system that allows the real-time sending of the recorded data to the municipal police, high definition image acquisition, 24-hour check of flows of traffic. In fact, a complete overhaul and the cameras to control the Ztl gates of the city of Pisa were carried out, thanks to the new Sart Smart system. “Together with the work carried out on the lifting systems and the automation of the underpasses – Andrea Bottone – we have complete systems for the lifting and automation of the underpasses. The previous system, in fact, dating back to about 20 years, was now obto and above all used finds that they were no longer able to have been and often implemented in the data storage and archiving activity “. The activation of the new electronic systems involved the activation of the 17 existing cameras and the installation of 4 new cameras with the new vega smart 2hd camera. One of the novelties consists in the fact that some rooms have been positioned on the gates at the exit, as well as at the entrance. The data collected by the rooms, filtered between white list (ie the plates that have free access to the LTZ) and black list (cars without regular authorization), are sent in time to the Ztl central police station of the Municipality of Pisa. The other novelty of this new system is that in the event of a power failure or data connection, the camera continues to record all the necessary data, storing up to 320,000 transits per single gate.

In addition to this, as mentioned, Pisamo operated a complete overhaul of the conservation and maintenance system of the city’s underpasses. The underpasses that were not under direct municipal management were taken over and the company revised and adapted all the pumping stations, i.e. those systems that need to prevent the underpass from flooding in the event of persistent bad weather. At the same time, a contract was launched for the ordinary (monthly) and extraordinary maintenance of the plants, including the contract for the subsidiary generators. In practice, the system guarantees, 24 hours a day, a real-time alert in the event of a breakdown, malfunction, or any anomaly: a report that reaches both Pisamo and the technicians in charge of maintenance and emergency intervention.
