Like every end of the year, public transport timetables change for New Year’s Eve. The opportunity to review the main changes planned.
Unlike the Christmas alarm clock, national public transport operates according to its usual schedule on December 31.
The buses
For Saturday January 1, 2022, New Year’s Day, service will resume for the entire network around 8 a.m. On the other hand, the ICT network will operate according to public holiday schedules.
Specific lines: During the night of December 31 to January 1, 2022, the seven lines of the City Night Bus network in the City of Luxembourg will operate until 3:30 a.m.
The trains
On Friday December 31, 2021, the trains will run according to the usual schedules. As for January 1, the hours provided for public holidays will apply.
The tramway
- On Friday December 31, 2021, the tram will run as usual, with a pace of 4 to 15 minutes:
Luxexpo – Central Station journey: first departure at 4:30 am & last departure at 12:05 am
Train Central Station – Luxexpo: first departure at 4:58 am & last departure at 12:40 am
- On Saturday January 1, 2022, the tram will run at the scheduled times for public holidays, with a pace of 10 to 15 minutes:
Luxexpo – Central Station journey: first departure at 5.15am; last departure at 12:05 am
Train Central Station – Luxexpo: first departure at 5:43 am; last departure at 00:40
For people with reduced mobility
The Adapto special transport service will operate according to the following times:
- Friday December 31: transport provided between 7 a.m. and midnight
- Saturday January 1: transport provided between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Note: the Adapto commands will have been made sufficiently in advance. Customers may have to adapt to the constraints imposed by a limited fleet of vehicles.
