From the author’s cabinetmaking, this is how the new address of Bottega Ghianda. This century-old house founded near Lake Como has just opened a new showroom in Milan, in the very exclusive fashion quadrangle. A minimalist setting that “Favoring the subtraction of the vacuum rather than the accumulation of the full. This alternation of full and empty allows to highlight each product by surrounding it with an emotional aura ”, according to the direction of Bottega Ghianda. And to measure the finesse of the details of wooden pieces designed by Gae Aulenti, Cini Boeri, Mario Bellini, Naoto Fukasawa, Tobia Scarpa, Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, Philippe Starck or Michele De Lucchi, who provides artistic direction. An astonishing space which alternates woodwork in ebony and gray walls on one student discovers a contemporary fresco representing the Last Supper … The design finds its letters of nobility there.

… Ethimo nel giardino…
A sign of the strength of outdoor furniture, the opening of a huge Ethimo showroom in September, on the occasion of the International Furniture Fair in Milan, is a real show of strength from the Tuscan publisher. On four floors and a vast exterior, in the heart of the Design District, Ethimo presents all of its collections in a green and vibrant atmosphere carried by majolica walls, green or sienna enamelled terracotta and other more mineral spaces with gray lime walls. The brand called on the Studiopepe duo to select the palettes, colors and finishes of this urban jungle. From compact armchairs perfect for balconies in town to sun loungers for the edge of swimming pools … all types of outdoor furniture take their place in a multitude of small scenographies, which finally confirm the garden furniture as essential in the world of the decoration contemporary.

Renovated and extended, the historic B&B Italia showroom, Via Durini, now accommodates over 2,150 m2 the lighting editors Flos and Louis Poulsen, demonstrate the power of this new player in the sector. Designed by Massimiliano Locatelli and Piero Lissoni, the place regained its original brightness on three levels. We revise its classics, like the Camaleonda, by Mario Bellini (B&B Italia), or the armchairs by Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena, another brand present here (like Maxalto), but we also come to learn about innovations such Oplight, Revolutionary wall lamp by Jasper Morrison at Flos… A technical and inspiring space in Milan.
