In his new book, ex-politician Walter Thaler from Zell is dedicated to personalities in Salzburg’s history, most of whom have been forgotten.
Since his retirement in 2004, the historian, Germanist and former mayor of Zell and member of the state parliament, Walter Thaler, has written ten books. He is primarily dedicated to regional history, most recently in the form of biographies of historical personalities. His new book “Memorable” was published before Christmas. In it he portrays notable Salzburgers who are no longer known to most people. Thaler: “I see myself as a tracker and gatherer of people. I try to recall the unknown, the beautiful, and above all the repressed and the terrible.”
