Almost half of the counties are at extreme risk of infection. Lisbon worries
This Friday, Portugal has 151 municipalities at risk of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). A week ago there were only 21, reaching 151 when the 130 municipalities at very high risk were included. These are now 114.
No set of extreme risk and very high risk there are now 165 councils, out of a total of 308 across the country.
Municipalities with more than 960 cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days are considered at extreme risk, while those at very high risk are those where the incidence is between 480 and 959.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Porto Santo, in the Madeira archipelago, is the municipality where the increase is greatest, reaching 4753 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In Mainland Portugal, the highlight goes to the capital: Lisbon has 2510 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
There are still 34 municipalities at high risk, with a 14-day cumulative rate of increase between 240 and 479.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and only eight where it is between 120 and 239.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Of all the municipalities, only one has inferior treatment: Velas, with 118 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
