What you can do on a New Year’s Eve in Naples and Campania: the rules and prohibitions from dinner to parties in the square.

The New Year’s Eve in Naples 2022 unfortunately it will suffer from the renewed fear of Covid-19 infections following the wave of new infections of the Omicron variant. In Campania, the rules linked to the new Public holidays decree of the Draghi Government, with the extension of the super green pass, the obligation to wear an outdoor mask and the use of Ffp2 masks in some places indoors and in some circumstances, there are also the prohibitions of ordinances of the Campania Region And of the mayors. In Naples, parties and aperitifs in closed squares and discos are prohibited. I dinners are allowed in restaurants, but only with super green passage, and at home with friends and family. It is also possible to enjoy a weekend out of town, since they are not in force for travel between regions or municipalities and also for foreign countries. The Ministry of the Interior has issued a circular with which it is strengthen controls anti-Covid19 by the police on the night of December 31, 2021.

But what can you do on a New Year’s Eve in Naples and Campania? Here are all the rules and prohibitions from dinner to parties in the square.

Parties and events in the square are prohibited

Campania was the first region of Italy to ban parties and events in the square for the entire duration of the Christmas 2021 holidays. The ban will also be in force for the night of 31 December 2021 and will end on 1 January 2022. Therefore, the concerts in the square on New Year’s Eve have been canceled, like the one in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, transferred to the Maschio Angioino and visible only in streaming and on TV.

Prohibition of aperitifs and obligation to wear a mask on the street

Only table service inside the premises is allowed, in compliance with the regulations in force regarding Covid 19. Furthermore, any form of celebration or toast in public areas and for public use is prohibited in the same time slot. Lastly, the provision provides that the activities of the Via Ruta fair, the covered market and the local markets, on 31 December, are allowed exclusively for food sector operators.

Veglioni only at home, closed the discos

New Year’s Eve parties are also prohibited on the premises, where it will be possible only to dine seated at the table respecting the distance. Instead, the balls will be admitted at home, always in compliance with anti-Covid19 regulations. The discos will be closed until January 31, 2022. Some Neapolitan clubs have reinvented themselves by offering customers a different offer and transforming themselves into restaurants, without a dancing evening. Gatherings are prohibited, both indoors and outdoors. In short, no New Year’s “trains” to the rhythm of samba.

Ok for dinner at the restaurant, but only with super green pass

Sara It is possible to have a New Year’s Eve dinner both at home and in restaurants. But it will be mandatory to have the super green pass, that is to be vaccinated against Covid. In Naples, many clubs offer live music or shows together with the New Year’s Eve dinner. But customers can still remain seated at the table. There are no limits, however, for the number of people that can be hosted at home for the dinner, while respecting the anti-contagion regulations on gatherings.

When the Ffp2 mask is mandatory

There mask Ffp2 it is mandatory to get on public transport, such as buses, metro and funiculars, to enter cinemas and theaters and for those who have had contact and are exempt from isolation. To take public transport and trains it is also necessary to have the Super Green Pass, which will be checked for a sample to passengers. In Naples there are no extended runs of the Metro Line 1 and of the funiculars for the night between 31 December 2021 and 1 January 2022. The surgical mask is instead mandatory outdoors.
