Lockdown for unvaccinated, Confcommercio Pisa says yes
“We cannot start 2022 with the risk of losing thousands of businesses and jobs. To avert an economic and social catastrophe, decisive and concrete measures are needed, such as the lockdown for unvaccinated people called for by Governor Giani ”. The president of Confcommercio Provincia di Pisa Stefano Maestri Accesi opens to the proposal of the president of the Tuscany Region.
“Without going into the merits of the health aspects, which do not compete with us, we support this solution to avoid new lockdowns and closures and protect the work of entrepreneurs in the sectors we represent: commerce, tourism and services, now forced to navigate on sight between the emergency pandemic and measures that impose restrictions and measures. Businesses, commercial activities and VAT numbers are the first to suffer the effects, but the progressive impoverishment of the supply of goods and services risks having devastating social and employment repercussions “.
“The allocation of compensatory measures in favor of companies must be a priority that cannot be postponed” says Maestri Accesi. “A part of public opinion is not in favor of the refreshment system, but I would like the message to be clear: the supports are vital to keep companies, shops and businesses running, and consequently to pay the salaries of thousands of employees. Even those today who are not directly affected by the crisis may find themselves in a situation of hardship that puts the stability of our economic and social system at risk ”.
“We have a duty to do everything possible to avert the worst scenarios, starting with concrete measures, a series of interventions that the Government must implement with the utmost urgency: cut cost items, provide for new reliefs and a tax moratorium, extend layoffs and postpone the maturities of mortgages, bills and payments at least until the end of the state of emergency “.
