A siren test on January 4
On Tuesday 4 January afternoon, a siren located at Place du Docteur Baylac in Toulouse will be tested as part of the acceptance of works to modernize SAIP, the warning system. Several tests can be carried out in an interval of 15/30 minutes. The SAIP is a set of tools (including sirens) which allows the broadcasting of a signal or a message by the authorities during an event of a particular gravity or in a crisis situation (natural disaster or industrial, terrorist attack) to people likely to be affected. Its initiation is the responsibility of the mayor and the prefect, or even the Ministry of the Interior. In the Haute-Garonne department, a total of 120 sirens (49 existing and 71 new) will be connected to the SAIP. The deployment is being finalized. On this occasion, sound tests take place each time a siren is connected to the SAIP.
